Join all your friends at The Library for an early learning bonanza. We’ll have stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and more that will help your child to build their skills and be ready to succeed at whatever is next.

Born to Read | Tuesdays at 10AM
Baby, you are Born to Read! Experience songs and stories together to help your baby learn sounds, language, and a love of books. Stay to socialize and play afterwards with other babies and families. For parents, grandparents, caregivers and their babies.

Online Book Club | Sundays at 2PM
Join us for the month of April as we read and discuss the novel The Mountains Sing by Nguyễn Phan Quế Mai. Our book club pick is an epic family saga and their experiences in 20th Century Việt Nam based on over six years of research and personal experiences of the author.

All Ages Programming

 

The Library’s Card Party
This activity is great for all ages – participate alone or as a family!

You may not know this, but The Library works with several nursing homes throughout Dauphin County by providing programs and replenishing their libraries with books for the residents to enjoy. 

Because we're under a stay-at-home order, many – if not all – nursing facilities are not allowing visitors to see their loved ones. We invite you to take this opportunity to reach out to the residents at two of the nursing homes we visit and let them know you are thinking of them.

Get as creative as you'd like – send a homemade card or colorful bookmark, or just send a note to make their day. You might include poems or song lyrics and ask them to come up with their own tune, or send pictures with descriptions. 

Think about what you would like to receive if you couldn't see your loved ones. Send something that will put a smile on their face or make them laugh out loud. They would appreciate the kindness.
